& Celebration

Delivery

Upon completing the final touches to your handcrafted bespoke jewelry piece, you will likely have settled the remaining balance. (Please note that no project can be delivered until the full payment is received). I will carefully package your jewelry in my signature recyclable and reusable packaging, ensuring it arrives safely at your doorstep, fully insured and requiring a signature for delivery.

& Packaging

Balance Payment

Once we have finalized your bespoke design and determined the final cost of the piece, you will be required to make a 25% deposit (before tax) to initiate the crafting process. Payments are split into four convenient installments, due every two weeks. However, if you require more time, I am happy to accomodate. If ashes are required, I will ask that you ship them to me. Then I'll take it from here- sourcing all the necessary materials for your piece. Once in hand, I'll start putting your piece together.

& Deposit

Approval

While I immerse myself in the design and CAD modeling of your project, you can unwind and let me take the reins. Within your portal, you'll have access to review your project details, detailed renders, and provide your valuable feedback. This interactive platform will serve as our virtual collaboration hub. You have the opportunity to request up to five revisions without incurring extra costs. Further revisions may be subject to a fee.

Design

Upon reaching the top of the waitlist, you'll receive an email containing a link to your bespoke project portal. This portal will serve as our central communication hub from this point forward. Within the portal, you'll be able to complete your project questionnaire, schedule your Zoom consultation to discuss the details as outlined in your questionnaire, review design proofs and provide feedback, submit your retainer payment (which will be credited towards the final cost of your piece), access comprehensive policies and terms clearly outlined, and make invoice payments. A one stop shop!

& Consult

Questionnaire

Once you've successfully claimed your slot on my waitlist and received an email acknowledging your position, you will be required to pay a $200 retainer fee. While the retainer is non-refundable, it acts as a down payment on your project, and will be applied to the final price of your piece. Wait times may vary depending on your position on the waitlist and the volume and complexity of ongoing projects, but you can anticipate reaching the top of the waitlist within three months.

Frequently asked

True memorial jewelry, in my view at Marlin, should hold a tangible piece of your loved one, something truly representative of their physical presence.
My distinctive inlay techniques allow you to subtly and meaningfully incorporate elements like cremated ashes, a lock of fur, or even hair into the design of your jewelry. These materials become woven into the very fabric of the piece, creating a lasting connection that transcends simple symbolism.

Yes. Though California has tight regulations for disposing of human cremains, these regulations do not apply to incorporating them into jewelry. Additionally, there are no restrictions at all on the handling or using of animal cremains. So, no worries, we're completely within legal bounds when creating your memento. To ensure everyone's safety and compliance with the shipping and handling of cremains, I provide prepaid ashes retrieval kits which include everything you need to safely send remains to me; from secure containers, to USPS priority Mail Express shipping labels, all covered in one hassle-free package. Please note, that because of these regulations, I'm unable to offer disposal or scattering services myself.

I offer heirloom-quality, handcrafted and highly personalized bespoke memorial jewelry starting at $2,400. This price reflects the individualized attention, years of dedication and specialized skills I pour into each piece, from meticulous design and 3D modeling, to hand finishing at the bench. Though there are less costly memorial jewelry designs on the market, few offer the same level of personalization, stylistic detail, and quality. When you choose my work, you're not just investing in a beautiful piece, but in a lasting legacy that truly honors your loved one. I'm always open to exploring customized payment plans to better suit your needs- no interest or fees apply. Please be aware that no piece can be delivered until the balance has been paid in full.

It's possible! I use heirloom or loose stones on a case-by-case basis. Since I did not source these stones myself, I cannot ensure their origin, history, or true identity; therefore I cannot guarantee the safety of any stones not supplied by me. The last thing I want is for your priceless heirloom emerald to chip, crack, or break on me- so it's always best you let me do the sourcing! There are however certain cases in which I will accept these stones- reach out to me if this is something you're interested in doing and we can chat!

I only require a teaspoon of ashes for your memorial piece, and oftentimes there are ashes leftover from the process. I send the remaining ashes in a secure and labeled plastic baggy, tucked into soft velvet bag that goes home to you with your finished jewelry piece. Due to those California disposal regulations I mentioned earlier, I cannot dispose of, or “spread” any remaining cremains for you.

The journey to your bespoke piece is a collaborative experience led by shared inspiration, and open and frequent communication, the pace of which can dictate the bespoke process timeline. With a clear vision and seamless teamwork, we can deliver your piece in just 4 weeks.
However, some clients need more time to explore design possibilities or navigate the emotions tied to memorial jewelry. I completely understand and respect this. In such cases, your piece might take closer to 10 weeks. Remember, every person and design is unique, so it's hard to give a one-size-fits-all timeframe.

Although the most popular form of memorial jewelry I create right now is in the form of rings, I can also design pendants/necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and commemorative coins.

Yes, with a caveat. Due to shipping restrictions, I can only accommodate memorial pieces for countries where the USPS is able to ship cremated remains. This is because USPS is the only shipping company authorized to transport ashes, and they only do so to and from a limited number of countries. You can find the list of approved countries here.

I work in 14kt and 18kt gold in the color of your choosing: yellow, white, or rose (pink) and in special cases, platinum ruthenium. I can incorporate ashes, both cremated and aquamated, within your design. I can work with hair and fur, though they'll need to be carefully prepared beforehand. I do not work with teeth, breast milk, or any other body part or bodily fluid.

If the ring you saw was a Bespoke design, I cannot recreate it. The nature of bespoke work is that it is made specifically for that client in mind and is one-of-a-kind. However, I'd be happy to create a piece for you that is inspired by a past design. As long as some details have been changed to reflect your own personal style, I'm cool with that! If the piece you saw was part of my customizable collection- yes! I can. Please click here to see my available customizable creations.

Equally important, she was warm, compassionate, and thoughtful. I felt seen, heard, and respected throughout the entire process, which is so meaningful, especially when coping with grief. I loved connecting, chatting, and getting to know each other. I loved how informed I was throughout the whole process, it sounds so silly but even getting a 3d printed model of the ring to try out was so mind-blowing in that I really felt like I was part of the design process. I've never gotten anything custom made before and the whole thing from start to finish just felt so special."

"Hannah is an incredible artist and working with her was such an immense pleasure! She has this unique way of understanding and respecting the emotions associated with creating memorial pieces; she handled everything with such grace and empathy, which made the experience so much more special.

"The work that Hannah did for me was so much more than making a beautiful piece of jewelry. It was in her personal touches, and the way she handled this delicate process of memorializing my brother.
